Position Summary:
Futures Group is seeking a short term (one to two months starting in September) note-taker/transcriber based in Uganda to support the implementation of a public health program assessment that involves conducting focus groups and interviews in community based settings.
The note taker will be responsible for traveling to field sites to participate in in-depth interviews and focus groups, collecting high quality data, and collaborating with the Qualitative Data Collection Specialist and research team based in the United States.
Ugandan nationals are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Record and take notes during in-depth interviews with program officers and community authorities, transcribe recordings and complete with field notes.
- Record and take notes during focus group discussions with community level workers, transcribe recordings and complete with field notes.
- Hold debriefing sessions with Futures Group staff
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional experience in related field Bachelor's degree in public health or community health, international development, monitoring and evaluation or other related field preferred
- Previous experience with note-taking during in-depth interviews and focus groups
- Experience working with programs financed by international donors, preferably USAID
- Experience with HIV/AIDS or orphans and vulnerable children programs
- Remuneration in accordance with salary history and certified credentials.
