RE : STAFF RECRUITMENT
GEM-U is a child centered and young people led organisation
that promotes girls’ education through skills development, advocating and
mobilising for increased opportunities, and creating platforms for their
empowerment. GEM-U operates on a strategy of putting girls in the lead, boys as
allies and tapping the wisdom of elders, to enable girls actively take charge
of their lives to shape their destinies and transform their communities.
GEM strategic
objectives include:
1. To protect and promote the rights of all girls to quality
education.
2. To create spaces for Ugandan girls to participate in decision
making about issues that concern their education and lives in general.
3. To provide girls with opportunities to develop and
exercise their leadership and technical skills.
4. To tap the potential of boys, men and women to work in
partnership with girls to promote equitable, accessible, high quality education
in Uganda.
5. To protect the rights of girls with special needs and any
children at risk of exploitation or abuse in and out of school.
