Position : Quality Assurance Officer (Facilities Services)
Reports to : Director Quality Assurance
Age: 27 - 40 years
Duty Station:Main Campus at Nkumba University, Entebbe.
Back ground Information
Nkumba University is a chartered University (Legal Notice No. 3 of
2007). The mission of the University is to provide an environment that
enables the cultivation of Competence, Confidence, Creativity and
Character in the academic, professional and social interactions. The
University is strengthening its management and administrative systems to
enhance both policy initiation and implementation through recruitment
of highly qualified and committed individuals. In a bid to attain this,
the University invites applications from suitably qualified persons to
fill the following positions:
a) Key Responsibilities
i. To liaise with all departments in the preparation of quality assurance programmes
ii. To assist in the formulation of standards for departments in the university.
iii. To guide departments and units in the implementation of quality assurance policies.
iv. To develop and administer tools for assessment of the quality of non academic activities
v. To participate in the formulation and implementation of quality assurance policies
vi. To prepare reports on quality assurance on all facilities and services.
vii. To assist in the preparation of the training of university staff in quality assurance issues
viii. To monitor the quality of facilities and services in the university.
ix. To participate in any activity that promotes the university’s quality assurance mechanism.
b) Qualification and experience
i. Masters degree in one of the following discipline: Higher
Education in Management, Education Planning and Management, Project
Planning and Management, Economic Policy and Planning, Quantitative
Economics OR Statistics
ii. Post graduate in Monitoring and Evaluation shall be an added advantage
iii. At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar position in a higher education institution or organization.
c) Skills and Competencies
i. Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
ii. Planning skills
iii. Computer knowledge and skills particularly Microsoft Office software packages.
iv. Ability to organize and coordinate strategic planning activities.
v. Possession of professional report writing skills.
vi. Skills in formulation and monitoring of quality assurance policies
vii. Integrity, Creativity & Innovative
