Post Title: QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED ARTISANS
Location: Manafwa District
Qualification:A minimum of a 3-year diploma
Experience:A minimum of four (4) years’ experience
A mine located in Manafwa District, Eastern Uganda seeks to engage the services of experienced service artisans in the following trades;
1. 1 x Mechanical Fitter/Fitter and Turner
2. 1 x Boiler Maker
3. 1 x Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Plant Fitter
The job and person specifications are provided below.
Job Functions
The successful applicant(s) will be required among other things, to achieve the following;
i. Maintain plant and equipment
ii. Take responsibility for the installation and
commissioning of new plant and equipment.
iii. Perform periodic operational inspections/checks on
plant and equipment and carry out necessary repairs.
iv. Assist in the training of apprentices and other
engineering personnel
v. Take responsibility for the maintenance of a safe working environment
vi. Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained in
the work place.
vii. Promote occupational health, safety and environmental
programmes at the mine
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidates should have the following
attributes and qualifications;
i. A minimum of a 3-year diploma from a recognised institution in the relevant discipline or trade tested class
1 artisan.
ii. A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a mining or heavy manufacturing environment.
iii. Must be bilingual, with a good command of both spoken and written English.
iv. Must have sound Knowledge of boilermaking, plate welding, pipe fitting, coded welding and must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and carry-out development work ( for the Boiler Maker)
v. Prospective candidates must be physically fit and be able to perform work of a physical nature.
