NARO Retirement Benefits Scheme (NRBS) is a contributory saving scheme for National
Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) staff. The Scheme is sponsored by NARO. NRBS
wishes to recruit a Scheme Manager who will be based at the Scheme Secretariat at Entebbe.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
The Scheme Manager will be responsible for overall coordination to ensure effective operation of the Scheme.
Responsibilities:
1. Liaising with all stakeholders on the matters of the Scheme.
2. Working closely with Human Resource Staff on matters of the Scheme.
3. Ensuring compliance with the current statutory legislation and regulations.
4. Keeping up- to- date with amendments to pension legislation and regulations.
5. Attending meetings with scheme service providers.
6. Liaising with external administrator and othe service providers when necessary.
7. Supervising support staff/key officers at the Scheme secretariat.
8. Writing periodic reports to BOT on the Scheme activities.
9. Improving the Scheme in response to feedback from members.
10. Producing and providing timely information to Scheme members.
11. Holding stewardship of all the assets of the scheme.
12. Advising the BOT on solvency and related matters.
13. Implementing all decisions of the BOT.
14. Coordinating the activities of all service providers.
Qualifications and Training required
• Postgraduate degree in the field of Business Administration or Economics or Pension Administration and Management.
• Three years’ experience at similar managerial level
• Skills
• Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills; IT skills; leadership and organizational skills; ability to work effectively and quickly under pressure.
• Other requirements
• Must be a Ugandan
• Proven ability to meet all expectations as expressed in the above description.
