MONITORING AND EVALUATION (M&E) INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY


Strengthening Decentralization for Sustainability (SDS) is a five year USAID-funded programme, now in its 3rd year of implementation. The SDS Program aims at improving results and sustainability of decentralized service delivery, with   emphasis on Health and services for orphans and vulnerable children at local government levels in Uganda.

 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Internship Scheme: SDS is rolling out a 12 months M&E internship scheme aimed at developing/enhancing M&E skills among young talented and fresh University graduates. The internship scheme targets brilliant, highly motivated and interested young graduates (30 years and below) with a passion for M&E. Under this scheme, SDS seeks to recruit 8 young graduates.
 The interns will be based in the four SDS offices as follows:
 Eastern (Mbale); Western (Mbarara); Central (Kampala) and Head Quarters (Kampala).  

 Desired Qualification: 
A Bachelors’ degree in areas of; Medical Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Demography, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration, Information Technology and any other related disciplines. Besides the above stated qualifications, the applicant must demonstrate motivation for M&E, should be available and willing to start by May 1, 2013. This scheme is open to all qualified Ugandans from different institutions, ethnic back grounds and gender that are ready to contribute to the development of the country using the acquired M&E/MIS skills.

          Motivation statement not exceeding 1000 words, double spaced in font 12 of Times New Roman. The statement should clearly bring out why you should be considered for this scheme, what you intend to benefit from the scheme and what you intend to offer as well as what your future M&E aspirations are.
