JOB ADVERTISEMENT:

Government of Uganda through ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries(MAAIF) received the grant from the Government of Japan to increase capabilities to cope with impacts of climate change The funds among other things is to support a skeletal staff to operate the procured heavy earth moving equipment to develop infrastructures for increasing access to water for Agriculture production (irrigation, water for livestock and aquaculture) and to enhance agricultural mechanization as one way to increase capabilities to cope with the impacts of climate change .

The permanent secretary wishes to invite suitable qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions. Applications should be filled on public service  form 3(Revised)and submitted to the permanent secretary, ministry of agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries P.O.Box 34518, Kampala not later than 7^th January 2013.The forms can be obtained from the ministry of agriculture Headquarters and Government ministries and departments. Applicants who will not hear from the ministry on completion of recruitment and selection exercise should consider themselves unsuccessful.

JOB TITLE: MOBILE WORKSHOP MECHANICS (2)

Salary scale: Attractive.

Terms: Contract;

Age: 25 -45 Years.

Duties:

The incumbent will be responsible to Assistant Project Engineer in performing the following Duties:

• Carry out maintenance, service and repare equipment /machinery .
• Provide capacity building to plant operations on minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Developing repairs and maintenance schedules for the equipment and implementation schedules.
• Any other Duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicant should be a Ugandan holding an ordinary Diploma in Agricultural Mechanics.
• A valid Driving Permit Class CH, CM, &H.
• Five years experience in similar work with reputable organization or dealing in Agricultural Machinery.

Knowledge and skills:

• Able to work in a team.
• Must be able to work and reside under field /rural conditions.
• Must be ready to work in any part of the country.

2. JOB TITLE: DRIVER OF LOW BED (01)

Salary Scale:  Attractive.

Terms:     Contract.

Age: 25 -45 Years.

The incumbent will be responsible to assistant project Engineer in performing the following duties:

• Drive the vehicle during the schedule time.
• Ensuring the vehicle is in good mechanization before driving it.
• Ensuring proper maintenance schedules are carried out before driving.
• Ensuring that the vehicle is packed in appropriate place after work.
• Keeping and maintaining a vehicle log book.
• Any other duties as it may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualification:

Applicants should be a Ugandans holding;

• A UCE Certificate.
• A valid Driving Permit Class CH, CM &H.
• Five year experience in  similar work with reputable organization.

Knowledge and skills:

• Able to work in a team.
• Must be highly resilient and able to work under harsh rural condition.
• Flexible and ready to work in any part of the country.

3. JOB TITLE:  DRIVER OF DUMPTRUCKS (07).

Salary Scale: Attractive.

Terms: Contract.

Age 25 -45 years.

The incumbent will be responsible to assistant project Engineer in performing the following duties:

·         Drive the vehicle during the scheduled time.

·         Ensuring the vehicle is in good condition before driving.

·         Ensuring proper maintenance schedules are carried out before driving.

·         Ensuring that the vehicle is packed in the appropriate place after work.

·         Keeping and maintaining the vehicle log book.

·         Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualification.

Applicant should be a Ugandans holding.

• Availed Driving Permit Class CH, CM, &H.
• Five years experience in a similar work with reputable organization.

4. JOB TILTLE: DRIVER OF DOUBLE CABIN  PICK UPS (06)

Salary Scale: Attractive.

Terms:    Contract.

Age: 25 -45.

The incumbent will be responsible to assistant project Engineer in performing the following duties:

• Drive the vehicle during the scheduled time.
• Ensuring the vehicle is in good condition before driving it.
• Ensuring proper maintenance schedules are carried out before driving.
• Ensuring the vehicle is packed in appropriate place after work.
• Keeping and maintaining a vehicle log book.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

• Five years of experience in driving in reputable organization.

5. JOB TITLE: TURN BOYS /BUSH GUIDE (16)

Salary Scale; Attractive.

Terms: Contract.

Age: 25 -45 years.

The incumbent will be responsible to assistant project Engineer in performing the following duties:

• Assist the operator during the operation.
• Assist drivers and operators when carrying out repairs and servicing.
• Ensuring the security of equipment when there is a break down.
• Ensuring that the machinery is cleaned after the operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should be Ugandans holding.

• A UCE Certificate.
•  2 years experience in a similar works.

 Knowledge and Skills:

• Able to work in a team.
• Must be highly resilient and able to work under harsh rural conditions.
• Flexible and ready to work in any part of the country.
