  Chemonics International is a US based international Development Consulting firm, seeks an experience Chief of Party and professionals for an anticipated 5 year USAID Funded enabling environment for agriculture activities in Uganda. The proposed feed the future project will partner with Ugandan private and public sector institutions to enable environment for agricultural development, trade and adaptation to climate change. We are looking for individuals who have passion for making difference in the lives of people around the world and demonstrate leadership, versatility, and integrity in their work.

1. Chief of Party:

  

Responsibilities include:

• Over see the implementation of all project activities to meet targeted objectives.
• Provide strategic directions and administrative leadership.
• Serve as the primary liaison with USAID, the Government of Uganda and other reject stakeholder including local partners.
• Mange and supervise the technical work of project personnel and subcontractors.
• Provide compliance oversight and quality assurance for the project activities including finance, and operations, grants, procurement, and budgeting.

Qualifications:

• Masters’ Degree in Agriculture, Trade Policy, or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing donor funded projects , preferably, USAID in Agriculture development, trade and climate change adaptation..
• Proven track record in building the capacity of local  private sector and civil society institutions and improving  Government policy on agricultural development is required,
• Demonstrate ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including local governments, USAID, and international donors demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of USAID /Uganda feed the future initiative is preferred.
• Prior experience as a chief of party on international program in Uganda or project in similar size and scope is preferred
• Fluency in English required.
