Job Summary

The incumbent has the responsibility for the

operationalization of power profit & loss as a profit center within ATC Uganda. This includes revenue generation, through appropriate billing and energy cost management, ensuring processes and procedures support the achievement of business ROI. Interfaces with power solutions and O&M for optimal delivery of power solutions to the customers.

OVERVIEW:

True North Consult Ltd is a boutique HR Consultancy Firm offering Outsourced Manpower services, HR Advisory, and Executive search & selection services to selected clients across East Africa.

Responsibilities

Ø  Managing/advise on Capex and Opex costs associated with offering various power solutions,

Ø  Overseeing complex cost and billing calculations, understanding operational deliverables in managing power systems to achieve the business’s profit margin goals

Ø  Analyze all power consumption data and calculate costs for billing,

Ø  Responsible for accurate and validated power statistics and reporting to support business decision-making and revenue-generating models,

Ø  Update customer billing system(iBill) with relevant business logic as per customer agreements,

Ø  Act as an interface between Operations and all other departments in all aspects relating to Power Solutions billing and invoicing,

Ø  Principal/Lead expert between customer and ATC on all customer-related technical sales and power billing queries.

Ø  Ensure that all client load metering is accurate and available, and provide accurate site load data when required,

Ø  Responsible for submitting monthly load data for billing purposes,

Ø  Ensure that Remote Monitoring System (RMS) data is accurate, reliable, and available all the time – for revenue assurance, SLA management, and energy management.

Ø  Responsible for SMPMS vendors' monthly fuel reconciliation,

Ø  Responsible for grid bill validation,

Ø  Manage electricity prepaid accounts. Plan and ensure that no site is disconnected due to no tokens/units,

Ø  Responsible for reconciliation of applicable pass-through power bills,

Ø  Provide weekly and monthly grid availability figures to the business,

Ø  Ensure that airtime credits for all remote-monitoring devices are replenished in a timely fashion

Ø  Advise the business on how to reduce site-wise power costs and improve margins.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Ø  Supervise and manage the performance of direct reports as well as strategic partners.

Ø  Proactively identify and resolve personnel issues in conjunction with Human Resources for the executive team.

Ø  Recruit, develop, and retain staff, partnering with Senior Management and Human Resources.

Ø  Provide disciplined performance management for the team.

Ø  Define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated in a timely and professional manner.

Ø  Create a strong collaborative team environment.

Person Specification

Education, Training, Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

Ø  Strategic commercial orientation

Ø  Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Ø  Strong Financial modeling for business cases and solution crafting

Ø  Complex Data Analysis with the ability to collate complex information and interpret/communicate to a variety of key stakeholders.

Ø  Ability to work with functional groups and different levels of employees throughout the ATC organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results

Ø  Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed,

Advanced presentation skills.

Ø  Strong written, influencing, and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively

Ø  Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed

Ø  upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

Ø  Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.

Ø  Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high-quality solutions

Ø  Strong project management skills

Education and Experience:

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering

Ø  8+ years of working experience with 5 years of relevant commercial experience in the Telecoms industry, Engineering, and/or Power Related field

Ø  3+ years of people management experience

Ø  Cost Accounting experience minimum of 2 years

Ø  Expert commercial knowledge/understanding and application of energy and power solutions with insights into future industry-related trends for timely business decision-making

Ø  Project Management certification with at least five years of Project management experience would be an added advantage

Environment

Ø  80% of work will be performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. 20% travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

Ø  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.

Ø  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
