Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will generate revenue
for Individual Life Business to achieve corporate annual budgets through the
development of assigned markets and channels as a source of profitable business
for the company through the development of strong relationships and
partnerships.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
ü Building
and developing strong strategic partnerships/relationships within assigned
market and channels.
ü Plan
and carry out consumer education within the assigned markets and channels.
ü Drive
profitable business for the company (New and Renewal).
ü Design
and develop need-based products for the assigned market.
ü Deliver
excellent customer experience in the market.
ü Recruit,
develop and build capacity of Agency Managers, Unit Managers and sales agents
in the market.
ü Ensure
timely collection of premiums.
ü Liaising
with support functions to follow up on client queries and complaints.
ü Conduct
market activations and storms in strategic locations with respective sales
teams through visits or other means.
ü Prepare
market intelligence reports on products and services.
ü Carry
out performance appraisal, coaching and mentoring Agency and Unit managers.
ü Participate
in planning and budgeting for the department and participate in various
meetings and committees.
ü Participate
in sales promotional activities and incentives.
ü Any
other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
ü The
ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
ü A
master’s degree an added advantage
ü ACII
or other recognized insurance qualification.
ü At
least eight (5) years’ relevant experience in a similar position, three (3) of
which at supervisory level.
ü Excellent
communication and presentation skills.
ü Good
problem-solving skills.
ü Excellent
interpersonal skills.
ü Excellent
customer care skills.
ü Leadership
skills.
ü Good
negotiation skills.
ü Computer
literate in MS Office and other office applications.
ü Understanding
of the working environment/competitors.
ü Technical
competence in insurance.
ü Basic
knowledge of regulations by IRA(U)
