Backgroun Information:
ADRA Uganda is a Seventh-Day Adventist Church owned NGO whose mission is
“To work with people in
poverty and distress to create just and positive change
through empowering partnerships and responsible action” ADRA works with and
empowers stakeholders and upholds human dignity regardless of gender, age,
ethnicity, political and religious affiliations.
ADRA Uganda in partnership with UNHCR wishes to recruit staff, who should
be Ugandan Nationals, for a one-year Environment Protection and Renewable
Energy Project to be implemented in the 5 Zones of Bidibidi Refugee settlement
in Yumbe district, West Nile Region, starting January 2018.
JOB DETAILS:
The successful candidate will be in charge of planning and implementing the
project taking care of the technical and leadership roles as well as reporting
to ADRA Uganda and / or UNHCR. S/he will lead a team of more than 5 staff and
50 volunteers.
Essential qualifications and experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources Management, Forestry, Environment
Management, Renewable Energy or any related field. At least 3 years’ practical
field experience in managing Natural Resources or Environment Protection or
Renewable Energy Projects especially in refugee settings. Sound analytical
skills, M&E and good report writing skills; as well as substantial
experience in working with or in collaboration with UN Agencies – particularly
UNHCR.
The applicant should be ready to start work immediately and should be
willing to reside in Yumbe district (Bidibidi Refugee Settlement) where the
project office will be located.
