Position Title:  Production Assistant 

Duty Station:Hospice Kampala (1 Post)

Organisation: Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU)

Background Information:

Since 1993, Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) (national organization) has promoted modern methods of pain and symptom control as well as "whole-person" (holistic) care for patients living with cancer and HIV/ AIDS in Uganda. HAU strives to uphold excellent clinical standards and provide quality education courses and advocacy activities to promote the spread of palliative care throughout Uganda and Africa.

In addition to palliative care and oral morphine production, HAU is partnering with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS foundation (EGPAF) in a project that involves the repackaging of Nevirapine Oral Suspension into 'Pratt pouches' which will enable mothers and care givers minimize on the dosing errors and wastage.

Specific Duties :

a. Participating in the Pharmaceutical production unit

b. Records and stores management

c. Ensuring good Sanitation and Hygiene in the Pharmacy and production unit

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma In Pharmacy or related field with at least one years' working experience.

Experience in working or orientation in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is an added advantage.
