Position Title: Pharmacy Technician/Dispenser

Duty Station:Hospice Kampala (1 Post)

Organisation: Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU)

Background Information:

Since 1993, Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) (national organization) has promoted modern methods of pain

and symptom control as well as "whole-person" (holistic) care for patients living with cancer and HIV/ AIDS in Uganda. HAU strives to uphold excellent clinical standards and provide quality education courses and advocacy activities to promote the spread of palliative care throughout Uganda and Africa.

In addition to palliative care and oral morphine production, HAU is partnering with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS foundation (EGPAF) in a project that involves the repackaging of Nevirapine Oral Suspension into 'Pratt pouches' which will enable mothers and care givers minimize on the dosing errors and wastage.

Specific Duties:

a. Dispensing of medicines and patient counseling

b. Training of staff and interns

c. Overseeing Pharmaceutical manufacturing activities in the production unit

d. The Pharmacy Documentations and records Management
