programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights
Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and
Emergency contexts. Save the Children delivers programs in over 36 districts in
the North, Rwenzori, North-Eastern, West Nile and Central regions of Uganda. We
save children's lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfil their
potential.
Role Purpose:

The Job Holder will take responsibility for planning, implementation,
monitoring and reporting on livelihood non-core program within the designated
sub counties to promote safe, supportive and enabling schools and community
environments for vulnerable children in hard to reach communities of Uganda.

S/he is expected to implement the Livelihood non program activities in
schools in a manner that promotes integration with other core programs of
Sponsorship and cross cutting themes such as gender, disability, child
Protection, ownership and sustainability and rights programming.

The Job Holder also implements the livelihood non-core program in
collaboration with Sub county stakeholders and ensure meaningful active
participation of Children and their parents/guardians.

The job holder may be called upon as and when necessary to support the
emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis
Qualification and
Experience;
Essential
·
Minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in
agriculture, economics, entrepreneurship and other related fields.
·
At least 3 years progressive
experience in planning and implementation of livelihood programme in schools
·
Ability to speak the local
language Luganda fluently is a strong requirement.
·
Ability to ride a motorcycle
(Honda XL 125) and the candidate must be having a valid riding permit and
willing to ride a motorcycle
Desirable
·
Demonstrable financial, planning
and budget management skills a MUST.
·
Demonstrated knowledge of
international and local policies and frameworks relating to their thematic area
is a must and excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills, with the
ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks
and responsibilities
·
Experience of working with local
partners and District Local Government.
