Position Title:  Business Development Officer – Projects.
Job Grade/Scale: UDBL 5
Reports To: Manager Business Development
Location:Kampala
Job Purpose:
He/she shall be responsible for attracting and developing investment opportunities, undertaking appraisal analysis, advising management on investment opportunities, coordinating the implementation of investment decisions, portfolio management and collections to achieve the Bank’s development mandate.

Responsibilities:
1. Source for new projects and be part of the business driving team
2. Design new products and innovations which must be viable, practical, relevant and address the needs of clients;
3. Undertake investment analysis and appraisals of proposals submitted to the Bank and make recommendations to management and the Board for consideration
4. Undertake analysis of projects under implementation and the existing portfolio to identify and manage investment risks.
5. Coordinate the implementation of investments, monitor the performance of projects, and collections
6. Undertake continuous research and provide recommendations on significant developments, emerging
opportunities and challenges faced by the bank.
7. Manage client communications, relations and expectations
8. Carry-out any other tasks assigned by Management.
Job Profile:
Qualifications:
A gother numerate degree from a recognized university and a relevant post graduate degree such as an MBA or Masters in Finance.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years similar or relevant experience in a large financial institution or development bank, preferably engaged in long term funding or project financing; of which three (3) should be at middle management level.
Experience in agriculture/group financing is an added advantage.
He/ she shall have demonstrated strong analytical and financial analysis skills and experience in using financial models;
proven track record and experience in successful investment, appraisal, analysis and implementation; and ability to operate effectively across organizational boundaries and work as team to meet strict timelines.

Self-motivated, flexible, mature and articulate; innovative; business acumen with proven successful projects; tact, diplomacy and good networking and negotiation skills with the ability to interact with and influence high level decision makers; customer service orientation; and results-orientation and dedicated to growing the Bank’s business in East Africa.
