Duties:
·         Assisting the Director of Research in the day to day activities of the Directorate.
·         Representing the Director of research when called upon.
·         Undertaking documentation of all Research Directorate Resources and documents
·         Participating in Research activities; planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
·         Secretary to the Research and Publications Committee of the Research Directorate.
·         Assisting the Director of Research to organize and coordinate the allocation of UMU research Fund, arrange workshops and conferences.
·         Undertaking all other activities of the Research Directorate as will be requested by the Director of Research.

The applicant should be a holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Secretarial Studies or Computer Science or Social Sciences from a recognized Institution. The candidate should have at least two years of relevant work experience and must be computer literate.
Duties:
·         To assist the Dean in the compilation of course outlines syllabi / reading lists in handbooks produced by staff as well as reading lists by the same.
·         Prepare and distribute course assessment forms to their faculty at the end of each semester for students' feedback. These forms are returned to the Dean and make sure that the raw data is transformed into useful information.
·         Prepare the final mark sheets to be distributed with the exam questions
·         To assist prepare data files for entering students results letters at the end of each semester
·         Collect course work mark sheets by Friday of reading week and final assessment marks one week after the final assessment and enter data as collected
·         Carry out any other duties as may be assigned to you by relevant authorities.
·         Filing, typing, photocopying, taking minutes and any other duty as may be assigned.
·         Any other duties as may be assigned to you by higher authorities.

Purpose of Office:
The role of the Security Officer is to ensure the security and safety of staff, visitors and the property of the university. This will be delivered through working hand in hand with the security company providing security guards.
Person Specification
·         The applicant should be a holder of any undergraduate degree
·         Five years experience in security matters
·         Should have served police or prisons
·         Computer literate
·         Legal knowledge desirable
·         Work with minimal oversight
·         Able to communicate intensively verbally and in writing.
·         Appreciation and respect for confidentiality of personal information
Duties:
·         Ensure that the security company providing the security services perform their duties in accordance with the contract of service.
·         Ensure records of attendance of security guards are maintained
·         Liaise very closely with the in-charge of the private security company to share security concerns by the university, the company and other stake holders in particular, staff, parents, students and the community.
·         Report cases to police and follow them to the last conclusion, including testifying in Courts of Law where necessary.
·         Ensure good working relations between the service providers and the university authority, students and staff
·         Identify and report security risks and potential threats and advise management on the best ways to protect staff and equipment of the university.

Duties
·         Ensure effective management of the University assets
·         Ensure that the learning environment is maintained to a high standard by undertaking maintenance work
·         Maintain all buildings, furniture/fixtures on campus regularly.
·         Maintain the water system, gas and electricity installations.
·         Make sure the compost pits are clean and well kept and that all garbage is collected from the compound and staff quarters and disposed off appropriately.

·         S/he should be between 30-45 years.
·         He should have knowledge in vehicles repairing.
·         Able to work long hours and make long journeys.

·         To drive the University bus and other University vehicles.
·         To keep the bus clean and in good condition
·         To help staff on and off the bus
