Organisation: UGANDA COOPERATIVE SAVINGS AND CREDIT UNION (UCSCU) LTD
Country:Uganda
Mission: To provide
administrative and technical support to UCSCU to optimally plan, generate,
manage, deploy and account for all financial and non-financial resources in the
delivery of its mandate.
Job Role: To administer the finance and administration functions of UCSCU by
establishing and maintaining a system to record, control and report on financial
and non-financial resources in line with the set policies and strategic plan.
· Designing systems, policies and procedures for financial and
non-financial resource management
· Preparation and implementing Annual Work plans and budgets
· Reporting on actual and projected business and or financial results
· Evaluation and analysis of financial health and risks
· Maintaining financial discipline and control throughout the Union
· Maintaining financial records and preparing financial statements
· Development and implementation of financial strategies and controls for
capital investments
· Advising management on compliance with statutory requirements
· Ensuring effective revenue and cash management
· Providing financial expertise on statutory or commercial debts
· Oversee the performance of the Finance, Procurement, Administration, ICT
and Human resource functions of UCSCU and advise management on the necessary
improvement measures.
· Liaison with external auditors
· Perform any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time by
management.
3 Critical Output:
· Sound financial management information systems are established and
maintained
· Annual budgets and work plans produced in line with corporate plan and
donor requirements
· Financial and other resources are optimized and safeguarded
· Management reports and financial statements are prepared and issued
· The company guided towards compliance with relevant statutory
requirements, tax legislation and generally accepted accounting practices
· Effective liaising with internal and external auditors.
· Cash flow statements and projections accessed, compiled and drawn
· Recommendations made on income and expenditure reports to budget holders
· Expected receipts and payments received and listed
· Financial management Manual put in place specifying accounting policies,
procedures and guidelines
· Financial statements in line with statutory requirements and company
policies are prepared and issued
· Annual statutory audits conducted and on time.
· Variance between budgets and expenditures established on a regular basis
· Accountability process coordinated and funds accounted for.
Qualification(s):
· B.Com/BBA/BSc Accounting / Finance or their equivalent from a recognized
Institution;
· Full Membership of internationally Recognized Professional Accounting
Body (ICPAU, CIA, ACCA, etc) is a requirement;
· A post graduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Skills/Competencies:
· Computer skills (preferably Microsoft Office Applications).
· Practical skills on computerized accounting information system
· Ability to work on own initiative as well as supervision of a team;
· Demonstrable supervisory skills

Experience:
· A minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, finance management while
working with a reputable public or private commercial organization, 2 of which
must have been acquired at a similar level/position.
