Reporting: Deputy Country Director
Number of positions: 1
Stations: Kampala
Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, the Programme Manager SCHAP will provide technical and management leadership focusing on all the strategic and operational aspects of HIV/AIDS Prevention Activities and develop valuable networks with the districts, Ministry of Health and CDC.
Key Responsibilities
        Spearhead the project strategy development and implementation within the relevant districts and ensure that all AMREF initiatives in the region are fully aligned to the Uganda country strategy.
        Provide leadership to the development and implementation of high quality projects in line with AMREF’s values and principles.
        Ensure that AMREF is represented at local and district levels that are relevant to the Foundation’s work.
        Liaise and network with relevant AMREF partners and collaborators to improve AMREF visibility, coordination of activities and promotion of shared advocacy agenda.
        Ensure that the agreed project plans and budgets are monitored very closely and that high levels of quality, accountability, reporting and transparency are maintained throughout.
        Ensures programme growth by participating in the development of new project initiatives.
        Contribute to change management and strategic growth of the Uganda Country programme by actively participating in the management meetings.
        Responsible for the management of assigned budgets and assets in the programme under the direction of the Country Director.
        Link AMREF to the Ministry of health by interacting with the AIDS Control Programme (ACP) and other relevant departments and Committees.
        Support the project teams to develop and conduct appropriate Operations Research in the programme.
        Support quarterly, semi-annual and annual project implementation reports based on agreed priority areas, work plans and budgets and in collaboration with CDC.
Basic Qualifications, Training and Competencies
        The applicant must have a Masters Degree in Public Health or relevant area.
        Degree in Public health, M.B.Ch.B.
        Post graduate degree in public health or closely related field.
        At least 5 years’ of direct experience of managing complex integrated and behavioral change programmes in Health development, with a reputable international NGO.
        Experience of advocacy, operations research and publications in the health field.
        Evidence of documentation of project experiences to support programme development and evidence-based advocacy.
        Producing high quality financial and activity reports for donors and organizational use in a timely fashion.
        Experience in managing community health development programme and working for International NGOs.
Post: Data Entry Clerk
Reporting: Clinical Officer
Number of positions: 1
Stations: Wakiso
Purpose of the Job
To keep records and information on clients in electronic and manual forms, retrieve records for Clinical and monitoring purposes and ensure confidentiality and safety of records.
Key Responsibilities
        Managing and accounting for financial and other resources
        Keeping records and information on SMC clients.
        Sorting, verifying and filing of client records
        Entering client’s Data into MIS and project database
        Updating the program team with records/information.
        Retrieving files for clinicians and program team.
        Compiling and submitting reports to Clinical Officer.
        Adhering to Code of Conduct and Ethics.
Key Outputs
        Client records and information kept in electronic and manual copies.
        Confidentiality and data safety ensured.
        Records/information availed to authorized persons.
        Periodic reports submitted in a timely manner.
Basic Qualifications, Training and competencies
        The applicant should possess a minimum of Diploma in social sciences, Economics, Computer Science or Statistics.
        At least six months relevant experience in data entry.
        Highly organized and sensitive to detail.
        Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and meeting set targets Personal integrity, liable and dependable.
