Background Information
ICPAU is the national professional accountancy body in
Uganda, established by The Accountants Act. It has the legal mandate to:

Regulate and maintain the standard of
Accountancy in Uganda.

Prescribe and regulate the conduct of
accountants in Uganda.
•
Conduct professional accountancy examinations in
Uganda.

Reports to: Senior Examinations
Officer.
Job Summary: Responsible for handling
administrative work concerning students and examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
•
To handle registration of students.
•
To handle examinations administration and management.
•
To maintain students’ records and database.
•
To assist in designing and reviewing the
examinations’ syllabuses.
•
To assist in the marketing of the Institute’s
courses.
•
To assist in the management of the Institute’s
Library.
•
To participate in the production of the
Institute’s training materials
•
To build and manage relationships with the
Institute’s stakeholders.
•
To carry out any other duties as may be
assigned.
Skills: Teaching/training; and financial management and reporting.
Qualifications: Qualified Accountant. A degree is an added
advantage.
Experience: At least 3 years relevant working experience.

Report to: Technical Officer
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting
the Technical Officer in executing the technical function of the Institute.
Key Responsibilities:
•
To assist in handling technical issues related
to the Accountancy Profession.
•
To participate in the audit monitoring programme
of the Institute.
•
To assist in the execution of the Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) Programme.
•
To assist in development and preparation of
technical materials
•
To assist in the building of relationships with
the Institute’s stakeholders.
•
4. To participate in conducting research in
accountancy and related areas.
•
To participate in the running of the Institute’s
events and functions.
•
Perform other administrative duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Skills: Auditing and accounting; report writing; and team
leadership.
Qualifications: Qualified Accountant. A degree is an added
advantage.
Experience: At
least 2 years’ experience in auditing/teaching.
