Organization: Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Uganda
Location: Kampala, Uganda.
Background Information
ICPAU is the national professional accountancy body in Uganda, established by The Accountants Act. It has the legal mandate to:

        Regulate and maintain the standard of Accountancy in Uganda.
        Prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants in Uganda.
        Conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.

Post Title: Assistant Accountant (2 POSTS) – F04/10/13
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Accountant in executing the accounting function of the Institute.
Key Responsibilities:
        To handle receipts, payments and banking.
        To enter data into the Institute’s accounting system.
        To reconcile transactions.
        To prepare financial reports.
        To carry out any other duties as may be assigned.
Skills: Accounting and financial reporting.
Qualifications: Professional Accountancy Qualification. A degree or Accounting Technician Certificate is an added advantage.
Experience: Will be considered but is not essential.
Post Title: Relations Officer (Business Development) (1 POST)
Ref: GR03/10/13
Reports to: Manager Relations
Job Summary: Responsible for obtaining sponsorship for the Institute’s events, projects and products; branding; participate in developing and maintaining partnerships; and promotion of the Institute’s programmes and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
        To participate in organizing ICPAU’s events.
        To handle sponsorship and branding of the Institute’s events.
        To assist in the preparation of contractual agreements for sponsors in accordance with ICPAU policy.
        To assist in the promotion of the image of the Institute to all stakeholders.
        To produce follow-through the literature to sponsors
        To consistently update ICPAU management on the status of sponsorship activities.
        To participate in the development of promotional materials.
        To participate in the creation of partnerships as a promotional tool for the profession and the Institute.
        To assist in the promotion of the Institute’s programmes and activities.
        To assist in promoting use of ICT in reaching the Institute’s stakeholders.
        To assist in the coordination of the organization of meetings.
        To participate in the preparation of the Institute’s plans and business proposals.
        To carry-out any other duties as may be assigned.
Skills: Management; supervisory; negotiation; and proposal and report writing.
Qualifications: A Bachelors’ degree. A postgraduate qualification in marketing or public relations is an added advantage.
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
Post Title: Assistant Relations Officer –Front Office (1 POST)

Reports to: Senior Relations Officer
Job Summary: Responsible for managing the reception, handling incoming/ outgoing communication, and assist in handling members’ and students’ affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
        To handle telecommunications, enquiries and guests.
        To manage incoming and outgoing mail.
        To assist in the promotion of the image of the Institute to all stakeholders.
        To assist in building and maintaining relationships with the Institute’s stakeholders.
        To assist in the promotion the Institute’s programmes and activities.
        To carry out any other duties as may be assigned
Skills: Office management; supervisory; and negotiation.
Qualifications: A Bachelors’ degree in Secretarial Studies, Communication, Social Studies, or Business Studies.
Experience: Will be considered but is not essential.
TERMS: All positions are based in Kampala and have attractive remuneration packages.
