1. QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER (1)
Employment Terms:
Four-year contract
Key duties and
responsibilities:
i. Facilitate the formulation and implantation of Quality
Assurance Policy Guidelines for Kabale University
ii. Initiate and operationalise QA performance indicators
and code of conduct.
iii. Work with relevant units to identify internal and external
standards through benchmarking and assessment of quality programs
iv. Coordinate operations relating to Quality Assurance of
Academic programs.
v. Advise University Management on Quality Assurance matters
relating to teaching, learning,
assessment, research and consultancy, and other forms of
service delivery.
vi. Be responsible for the management of staff training for
performance improvement
vii. Develop and implement strategies for awareness creation
about Quality Assurance at Kabale University
viii. Conduct routine and continuous assessment in respect
of service delivery by varied units of
the University, including student/staff evaluation exercises.
ix. Facilitate the development of a culture of continuous
quality improvement
x. Produce Quality Assurance quarterly reports for Management
and the University Council.
xi. Monitor and evaluate the University Quality Assurance
Strategy..
xiii Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time
to time by the supervisor.
Person specifications:
i. Must be a holder of at least a Masters Degree, preferably
in Educational Management, and any other relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
A Ph.D qualifi cation will be an any other relevant discipline from a recognized

ii. At least three (3) years experience in management
including educational management or related areas of quality assurance in
higher institutions of learning.
iii. This job requires a person of proven high integrity and
analytical skills.
2. INTERNAL AUDITOR
(1)
Employment terms:
Four years contract
Key duties and
responsibilities:
i. Advising the University on general financial management
and control of the University finances in accordance with the University Council
policies and regulations.
ii. Establishing financial control systems in respect of
revenue collection, payment/expenditure and procurement of goods and services.
iii. Checking monthly financial services, reports and their
reconciliation.
iv. Ensuring implementation of risk management policies,
procedures, internal control systems and risk mitigation strategies
v. Assist External Auditors in execution of their duties
vi. Advising the Vice Chancellor and other Officers on
matters of financial management and accountability.
vii. Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time
to time by the supervisor. Person specification
i. Bachelor of Business Administration or Commerce
(accounting or finance option).
Relevant professional qualification like ACCA, CPA is an
added advantage
ii. At least 2 years relevant working experience in a reputable
institution.

3. ASSISTANT
SECRETARY, OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR (1)
Employment Terms:
Four-year contract
Key duties and
responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Vice Chancellor ,the officer
will be responsible for:
i. Coordinating activities within the Office of the
Vice Chancellor, and ensuring the smooth running of the Office,
in collaboration with the other staff under this Unit.
ii. Connecting the Office of the Vice-Chancellor with other
Units in the University.
iii. Collecting Departmental updates and production of
Reports on University progress as and when necessary.
iv. Liaising with visitors to the Vice Chancellor’s Office and
responding to their inquiries appropriately.
v. Drafting internal and external correspondence as and when
required by the Vice Chancellor.
vi. meetings conducted under the Office of the Vice- Chancellor
vii. Attending to routine work, including follow up of
decisions made by Management, when need arises.
viii. Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
from time to time.
Person specification:
i. At least a Masters degree, or equivalent.
ii. Previous experience in a busy environment.
iii. Ability to work and interact with a diverse clientele.
iv. Ability to work long hours with limited supervision.
v. A high level of integrity.
4. LEGAL OFFICER
(RETAINER)
Employment terms:
Four years contract
Duties and
responsibilities
i. Provide legal advisory and interpretation services to
Management and Council to ensure statutory compliance with existing laws and regulatory
requirements
ii. Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal
policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
iii. Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise
with and manage external lawyers
iv. Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations
and advise management
v. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the consideration
of Management
vi. Prepare, negotiate, review and draft documentation for
business transactions and prepare and advise management in compliance with all
statutory or legal requirements
vii. Provide legal protection and risk management advice to
Management especially on contract management
viii. Follow-up and update Management on court matters and
attending court hearings for and on
behalf of the University.
ix. Review and advise on MOUs between KAB and other
organizations
x. Assume any other duties as may be assigned from time to
time by the University Secretary.
Person specification
i. A Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution
ii. Diploma in Legal practice or its equivalent from a reputable
institution
iii. Must be an enrolled Advocate of the High Court of
Uganda.
iv. At least three years experience in a responsible position
in medium sized organization.
5. ADMINISTRATIVE
ASSISTANT, OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR (1)
Employment Terms:
Four-year contract
Key duties and
responsibilities:
i. Establishing and maintaining a good filing system.
i. Record keeping.
i. Protection of office furniture and equipment.
i. Liaising with other units for efficient running of the
University.
i. Disseminating information to various offices and persons.
i. Providing administrative support to the top University
Officials.
i. Arranging and facilitation of the staff meetings.
i. General office management.
i. Generally assisting the University in such ways as may be
expected in a residential University.
i. Any other duty assigned to you.
Person specifications:
i. An Honours Bachelors Degree Secretarial Studies or Office
Managment.
ii. At least three years experience in relevant fields.
