Information:
Marie Stopes Uganda (MSU) is a marketing-focused,
results-oriented social business that uses modern
management and marketing
techniques to provide family planning and reproductive healthcare across every
district of Uganda.
We aim to contribute 15 points to Uganda’s contraceptive
prevalence rate by 2015, saving and improving many thousands of Ugandan lives.
For over 15 years Marie Stopes Uganda (MSU) has prided itself on providing a
wide range of high quality, affordable and client-centred services to men,
women and young people. Our 340 team members work in every district of Uganda and
provide approximately 35% of all modern contraception, the majority of which is
delivered in hard to reach and remote areas. In 2012, MSU generated over 1.1
million Couple Years of Protection and provided qua lity services to over
350,000 Ugandans.
We are seeking ambitious, experienced and driven Individuals
to fill;
1. The Information Technology Head position whose main role
is to solve problems in a multi-server environment, through a variety of
software systems and applications in accordance with the Standard Operating
Procedures, Donor compliance regulations, deadlines,
contractual targets and budgets
2. The Executive Assistant’s position whose main role is to
provide the Country Director and the Director: Private Sector Partnerships
(executive management) with high quality administrative support to facilitate
their
successful delivery of projects and operational activities
in an orderly and well planned manner.
Key Roles and
Responsibilities
• Coordinating and supervising multiple systems to work in
unison, either internally or throughout a prescribed network of external
platforms.
• Analyzes existing systems for effi ciency and recommends
upgrades and design changes.
• Develop budgets to accommodate the technological communication
needs of various departments and service areas.
• Give direction to the team and motivates the team.
• Clearly communicate Information System strategies to
Senior Management and technically to vendors and team.
• Create, implement and support the country program IS
strategic plan within a time line and budget
• Clear communications with multiple managers to facilitate
identifying issues and developing logical, cost-effective solutions.
• Supervise security efforts to prevent breaches from
hackers, and to keep data and confi dential information safe.
• Interface with management to report on IT activities and
return on investment analysis for systems expenditures.
Education and
Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, computer
technology or business administration is required.
• Skills set should include business analysis, system
analysis and technical skills (networking or programming).
• A master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
• Three to Five years’ experience in ICT management.
• In-depth knowledge of software, hardware and LAN (local
area network) integration is necessary.

• Proven excellent technical oral, written, and editing abilities;
ability to present and write infl uentially for multiple audiences
• The ability to manage vendors and monitor task.
Management of a team
is essential.

atmospheres
• Able to think strategically and a good planner
• Able to manage and motivate teams to achieve targets and
to achieve organisational change.
