PEAS is a fast growing charity with a mission 'to unlock the potential of Africa by expanding access to affordable quality secondary education'. We run the fastest growing network of sustain ably financed secondary schools in Africa. We currently have a network of 22 schools across Uganda and Zambia, educating around 8,000 students.
PEAS has recently secured a grant from DFID as part of the Girls Education Challenge Fund, the purpose of which is to drive learning and results for marginalised girls. PEAS is supported by major corporate, government and private funders and our innovative financial model is pioneering in the field of public private partnerships in development education. Peas Uganda is seeking qualified and experienced professionals to join their small team and be an integral part of the local team for the following vacancies;
HR Coordinator                                       
Position Summary:
 The post is located in the Kampala office within the Human Resource Team (HRT). The coordinator is responsible for providing support to PEAS school leaders in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, job descriptions staffing, training and development, performance monitoring & reviews, human resource policies compliance and ensures that they have accurate and timely information in order to make effective decisions.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience and qualifications
Relevant degree or equivalent alternative levels of experience and training.
Completion of human resource development courses at post secondary institution
2 years of experience supervising staff.

2. HR ASSISTANT - On boarding and Recruitment
The post is located in the Kampala office within the Human Resource Team (HRT).
The HR assistant - on boarding & recruitment is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of internal and external recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The position holder plays a critical role in ensuring PEAS is hiring the best possible talent,provides advice and support to supervisors, staff selection committees and ensures that they have accurate and timely information in order to make effective decisions
PERSON SPECIFICATION
 Experience and qualifications                      
1.       Relevant degree or equivalent alternative levels of experience and training.
2.       Completion of human resource development courses at post secondary institution and
3.       2 years of experience supervising recruitment and staff selection.
4.       Equivalencies can be considered.
3. FINANCE ASSISTANT
Position summary: The post is located in the Kampala office
within the finance Team (FT). The position holder is responsible for timely and accurate accounting and processing support. Contribute to the Finance team achieving KPI's and furthering Organizational objectives, assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, Prepares payment vouchers, Acts as bank Agent, Custodian of petty cash and maintains petty cash records, Prepares bank reconciliation, Manages the filing system in the finance department, Supports the accountant to prepare financial reports, Assists in the preparation of the budgets, Maintains the cheques register
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience and qualifications
Bachelor Commerce/BBA accounting/finance Degree
             2 years experience in same position preferred
4. FINANCIAL OFFICER
Position summary
Ensure that all PEAS schools financial management systems are properly maintained and regular/ periodical reports are properly compiled and submitted to the senior Director of Finance .He/she should also ensure that school finance personnel(Director sand Bursars) are competent and regularly trained in efficient and effective financial operations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience and Qualifications
1.       Relevant bachelors degree preferably B.Com (Accounting), BBA (Accounting) full professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA,
2.       2 years middle management positions in Accounting, Finance or Auditing field
3.       Understanding of GoU and IAS/AFRS accounting requirements Demonstrated Budgeting skills
4.       Excellent communication skills
5.       Strong supervisory skills
