university education, post-primary education, primary and vocational training
for conflict-affected Africans since 1996.Windle International lead partner of UNHCR implementing Education Programmes in Uganda with close collaboration with the Government of Uganda through the Office of the Prime Minister
Job Purpose
The
Regional Programme Coordinator post ensures the effective & coherent
planning, implementation and monitoring of the Regional Programme, in line with
the Windle International Uganda’s Strategic Plan (2018-2022) and the annual
SPD. The purpose includes project planning and management, public policy,
monitoring and evaluation, development issues pertaining to civil society,
financial management and communications.
In all
activities,
s/he fosters collaboration within the region,
with Head Office, and partners among which are UNHCR, OPM, other donors and
implementing partners by ensuring the delivery of relevant and quality
administrative, policy and programming support.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1.
Operationalization of policy and program:
·
Effective
oversight, coordination, implementation and monitoring of regional program
including support for the settlements within his/her region
·
Expanding and
strengthening strategic regional partnerships and programmes
·
Participate in the
resource mobilization for program continuity and sustainability
·
Implementation of a
regional capacity development strategy
2. The primary activities of the Regional Programme Coordinator are:
·
Oversight and
guidance of the development, approval and implementation and monitoring of the
Regional Programme through effective modalities and partnerships, in line with
the Windle International Uganda’s Strategic Plan (2018-2022) and the annual
SPD.
·
Development and
nurturing of regional partnerships and networks in line with regional and UNHCR
priorities and in support of the effective delivery of the Regional Programmes
·
Oversight of a
Knowledge Management platform that responds to internal and external
information needs
·
Implementation of
the regional capacity development strategy and plan to maximize the use of
regional resources and to address capacity gaps in collaboration with Head of
Programmes and HRMA.
·
Contribute to WIU
Senior Management Team and provide management support at regional level and
from time-to-time provide support to the head office.
3. Qualifications and Experience
·
Advanced University
degree in development studies, programme management, sociology, gender,
economics, international relations, international development, public
administration, management or other related field.
·
Minimum of 5 years
of progressive professional experience in development programmes, of which 3
years at senior and managerial level with reputable organization or government
agency;
·
Strong track record
of leadership and proven ability to produce demonstrable results;
·
Extensive network
within the development community;
·
Field experience is
a strong asset.
·
Fluency in English
is required.
·
Working knowledge
of Uganda’s PESTEL.
