In partnership with PATH, MUCOBADI will implement a 4 years USAID - funded
programme (Advocacy for Better Health) and seeks to fill the following
positions;
Position Title:Project Manager-Advocacy
Duty station: Butaleja,Uganda

Reports to: Program Manager

Organizational Profile:
Multi Community Based Development Initiative (MUCOBADI) is a local NGO
founded in 2000 by Community Development Volunteers and currently working in 10
Districts of Bugiri, Mayuge, Buikwe, Butaleja, Budaka, Bududa, Kitgum, Pader,
Lamwo and Abim. MUCOBADI’s current programming focuses on Health, Rights and
Social Accountability, Livelihoods and WASH.
Overall purpose:
Responsible for the management and
technical oversight of the Advocacy for Better Health project including
planning, technical oversight and management of programme staff and partners
CBOs.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables
Project Management Support:
• Provide Program/Technical support to assigned staff to ensure the project
is implemented as planned
• Manage MUCOBADI/PATH partnership agreement especially the programming
component
• Coordinate the development of timely and quality annual, quarterly and
monthly work plans
• Lead on MUCOBADI’s resource mobilization processes through writing
concept notes and proposals
• Lead program staff to document significant change stories with guidance
from M&E Officers
• Participate in quarterly District Management Committees, Extended
District Health Team (EDHT) and other Sector meetings to identify and
articulate issues relating to policy advocacy
Technical Management Support (Support Advocacy Program Officers in)
• Planning, conducting community, policy and stakeholder mapping
• Developing and translating communication materials into local languages.
• Working to foster partnerships and collaborations with partners, media
and CSOs
• Assessing and strengthening the Capacity of Health Facility Management
Committees
• Providing community monitoring and oversight role for health and social
services
• Mentoring of partner CBOs in policy research and budget analysis
• Leading in development of advocacy and communication strategies
Quality Control and Reporting:
• Regularly monitor assigned staff in activity implementation to ensure
adherence to Standards
• Work closely with PATH Regional teams to ensure technical quality in
implementation.
• Collection of M&E data, compilation and submission of relevant
activity/periodic reports
• Review monthly/quarterly/annual programme reports and ensure that project
reports are consolidated and submitted within the timeframes
• Ensure proper financial controls in accordance with policy and project
approved expenditure
Job Requirements:
• A degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies and any
other relevant humanities
• A Post Graduate Diploma qualification in project planning and management,
M&E and other related fields
• Min 3 years’ experience in project management including 1-2 years in
social accountability and civic empowerment in an NGO setting
• Excellent verbal, written communication and facilitation skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of advocacy and Uganda’s health and social
services decentralization systems
• Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Motorcycle riding license is a MUST.
