Organizational Profile:
The AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda) an organisation contributing to
a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality
of Life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and
disease, requires the services of a dedicated, competent, innovative and
results oriented person for employment on a contract basis as Director Program
Management and Systems Strengthening (DPM-SS).
Directly Supervises:
•Manager Training and Capacity Development, Manager Psychosocial Services,
Manager Medical Services, Manager Health Systems Strengthening. Manager
Monitoring & Evaluation, Manager Research and Program Assistant
Main Purpose of the Job
To coordinate and provide strategic and policy guidance to the TASO
Programs (Meciical, Psychosocial), projects. capacity building and systems
strengthening as well as monitoring evaluation learning and research functions
in TASO
Key Outputs
•Medical, Psychosocial and Systems Strengthening policies, standards and
strategies developed.
Strategic and annual plans and budgets developed for Meciical,
Psychosocial, Training, DHSS, M&E and Research functions
•Medical, Psychosocial, Training/capacity development and systems
strengthening activiti designed, coordinated. and implemented as per plans
•Meciical, Psychosocial. Training/capacity development and systems
strengthening activities monitored and evaluated and regular reports availed to
relevant stakeholders
•Data from Monitoring and Evaluation ancl Strategic information availed to
all directorates and all TASO units for planning, programming and capacity
development
• Medical. Psychosocial, Training/capacity development
and systems strengthening reports disseminated to relevant fora
•Moblilise resources to support TASO programs and capacity development
activities
•TASO research activities designed, coordinated, implemented, monitored, ami disseminated to
key stakeholders
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
Director Program Management, Capacity Development and Systems
Strengtl1ening (DPM -SS)
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
Masters degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or Co III III unity Medicine.
A PHD in a medical related field will be an added advantage.
