Uganda Development Bank Ltd (UDBL) is the country's only Development Finance
Institution (DFI) established in 1972. The Bank has recently re-positioned
itself as a partner to the Government of Uganda in delivering the theme of its
National Development Plan.
Job Summary:
The Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth financial and
industry analysis of existing and potential borrowers. The function entails
identification of existing and potential credit risks and their mitigants. The
primary role of the analyst will be to determine the likelihood that a borrower
will be able to meet financial obligations and pay back a loan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out independent financial
analysis and risk rating of proposals presented to the bank.
·
Regularly review and critically
analyze all credit applications for accuracy, completeness and compliance with
policy; and make recommendations to the approving authorities.
·
In charge of the preparation of
reports including analysis, comparison, and commentary on the findings
including abnormalities, unusual trends, one-time events, developing problems,
etc. that require further investigation/clarification/ explanation.
·
Actively monitor the performance
and grading of the loan portfolio on a monthly basis and recommend remedial
actions to management in accordance to credit policy.
·
Take part in business growth
through timely credit assessment/underwriting of projects and contribute
towards the attainment of the development finance targets.

Maintaining “watch list” of
problem loans and ensures risk ratings are updated correctly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The candidate should ideally hold
a University degree in any business related course with a bias in Finance or
Accounting. Possession of professional qualification like CFA, ACCA, ACA will
be an added advantage.

At least four years of related
experience in credit analysis and loan documentation and processing in a
banking institution.
·
Possess excellent oral, written
communication, analytical, research and proficiency in word processing and
Spreadsheet software skills

Ability to meet deadlines
·
Ability to maintain the
confidentiality of credit and Customer information
·
Excellent interpersonal skills
and team orientation
·
Ability to work with minimum
supervision.
