The services of Nexia Johnson & Johnson have been retained to recruit
an Executive Director for the
European Business Forum (EBF), an International
Not for Profit Organization dedicated to serve as a platform for the European
private sector business companies in Uganda and beyond. The EBF promotes and
facilitates advocacy through relationship building, dialogue between companies
and GoU, networking and information sharing between European companies, for a
better business environment in Uganda.

Board of Director/ Executive

Responsible for: None (until team
is necessary, member(s) to provide admin support)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To represent, manage and execute the day to day operations of EBF, carry
out intelligence gathering, information analysis and dissemination and
lobbying, and organizing the EBF initiatives, in particular meetings with GoU,
private sector organizations, general assembly and the board.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Represent the EBF
·
Fulfill EBF objectives
·
Promote EBF’s vision, mission and
values
·
Manage the EBF office and all day
to day operations of the EBF secretariat.
·
Actively develop the membership
base of the EBF
·
Run the secretariat budget,
mobilize resources provided to the secretariat from membership fees and
contribution from members
·
Propose or receive proposition
from the Executive Board/ General assembly and set up thematic working groups
fit to advice on advocacy issues on recommendation and approval of the board
·
Coordinate thematic working
groups approved by the board.
·
Monitors, evaluates, reports, and
account for EBF performance and impacts in compliance with statutory
regulations and standards
·
In liaison with the Executive
Board deals with contractors and suppliers
·
Identifies, engages and builds
interest-led mutual relationships with private and public sector actors at the
local, national and regional levels.
·
Act as a liaison between EBF and
other European Business Platforms in jurisdictions outside Uganda.
·
Carry out and other duties as
would have been assigned by the Executive Board.
·
Communicate about EBF activities.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
The ED will be thoroughly committed to EBF’s mission. All candidates should
have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience.
Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
Education.
Master degree in Commerce,
Business Administration, management or equivalent experience
Experience.
10 years and above working senior
management experience in corporate, private sector association or government
body related to private sector activities in an international setting; track
record of effectively leading and regionally and/or nationally scaling a
performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to
specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have
taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
Other Skills
·
Past success working with a Board
of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.
·
Strong marketing, public
relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range
of stakeholders and cultures.
·
Strong written and verbal
communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent
interpersonal and multidisciplinary business skills.
·
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial,
adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
·
Ability to work effectively in
collaboration with diverse groups of people.
·
Passion, idealism, integrity,
positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
