Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the job is to teach, examine & supervise students as well as to participate in activities pertaining to the general development of the Mass Communication Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

·             To conduct lectures in Communication theory and practice.

·             To set and mark examinations in the above areas.

·             To supervise students' research, internship and project work.

·             To participate in such other activities as contribute to the smooth running of the Department and development of staff and students as assigned by the Head of Department.

Preferred Skills:              

Qualifications and experience

·             A Masters' degree in Communication/Journalism/Mass Communication/ Media Studies from a recognized Institute of Higher Learning

·             A good Bachelor’s degree with at least Upper Second (2.1) Communication/Journalism/Mass Communication/ Media Studies from a recognized Institute of Higher Learning

·             At least 3 (three) years' teaching experience in Mass Communication at a University or other institution of higher learning OR at least three years' experience as a practicing communication specialist/journalist with a Communication Department of a reputable organization or with a reputable media organization

·             Must be a committed practicing Christian
