Job Description:
Duties &
Responsibilities:
• Be the primary contact point for the testing within the Business (IT,
Operational areas and centers) and outside with International testing team
• Manage the filing of all records related to UAT and Change Releases.
• Actively participate in system change/releases/project meetings where UAT
input is required.
• Manage audit & snap checks exceptions for remediation that relate to
UAT.
• Ensure timely submission of UAT Department returns.
• Managing the User Acceptance testing for the releases and ensuring all
fixes are tested on time by the business and signoffs received.
• Consolidating the sanity testing and live proving plan for release
management.
• Work closely with all IT managers and other teams to ensure the testing
requirements are fulfilled.
• Follow up of Live proving results and update the stakeholders
appropriately.
• Getting the business wish list from all business teams within Uganda to
prepare and finalize the scope for the release management.
• Attending all Release Review Board (RRB) meetings regularly and putting
and highlighting the business pain areas.
• Working closely with project/change initiators to provide support in UAT
• Working closely with the Application Support and IT Change Teams to
monitor and track Releases and Change requests for the same
• Make presentation to business and other workstreams on the activities and
function of the testing workstream.
• Identify any Gaps existing/ Assist in the development of test
cases/scripts (show initiative) for UAT testing in support of the business
units.
• Assist in the preparation, delivery and review of UAT & Release
documents to ensure a detailed End to End process documentation.
• Participate in system change/releases/project meetings where UAT input is
required.
• Deliver team deliverables in quality and timely manner.
• Review and amend test cases/scripts as required by the change team.
• Work with the business to identify and resolve operational risks and gaps
introduced by changes in the system to the business.
• Responsible for producing periodic (scheduled & ad hoc) MI on IT
changes.
• Taking & circulating minutes in UAT planning, progress and sign-off
meetings.
• Following up on UAT audit & snap checks exceptions for remediation.
• Ensuring that UAT team documents are up-to date (signed, signature
verified etc) as per audit requirements and filed.
• Ensuring submission of UAT returns on time.
• Be a team player by supporting the other Change, Project, Business team
members and overly the Technology and Change team leaders.
• Managing the Co-ordination of live proving activities for changes raised
in country & outside touching on Uganda systems.
• Responsible for logging, forwarding and tracking changes with the
relevant Technology and Change teams
• Preparing and updating UAT plans.
• Managing all test environment to ensure they are available as and when
required for testing and E2E testing
• Ensure that an operational rigour culture is firmly embedded through the
provision of regular awareness training and support.
• Ensure by testing / monitoring the effective and timely resolution of
internal and external audit findings.
• Work closely with the Compliance, Legal, Business Risk, Fraud
Investigation, Center Manager and Team Managers to embed operational rigour,
conformance, and share best practice.
• Perform snap checks whenever called upon
• Principle point of contact for country and international teams on UAT
• Manage the resources assigned to the UAT team
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key players locally (Team
Leaders and Testers), ensuring clear accountabilities for risk, compliance and
governance, supporting Team Leaders in developing their people, maximising
their potential, achieving business goals and feeding into Performance
Development measures.
• Work closely and cross-sectorally with local country teams, Compliance,
Legal, Fraud, and Business Risk teams.
Required Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes:
• The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business related
field(an IT degree is an added advantage)
• Additional Professional ITIL Managers Certification or Equivalent
• ITIL v3 Expert
• At least five years’ banking experience
• At least two years experience in IT exposure
• A minimum of two years service management experience
• At least three years’ exposure to Architecture Planning
• At least two years’ experience in a Leadership role
• Good understanding of banking (retail and commercial), core banking
applications, IT Architecture, Change Framework and testing methodologies.
• An operational perspective and an understanding of how the testing team
fits and contributes to the projects and the business changes.
• Practical knowledge of testing tools, automated as well as manual testing.
• Proficient in “desktop” applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Strong management skills.
• Good project and release management skills.
• Strong team ethics. Whether functional, cross-functional or across
different business and country, ability to create a friendly and focused team
environment.
• Need to multi task in support of the resolution of complex business
problems in different countries.
• Take full responsibility for own Performance Development.
• Knowledge of Retail, Corporate and all other products offered by Barclays
and the way they relate to available systems.
• Good knowledge of Barclays core systems.
• Good knowledge of the Barclays Change Governance Framework
• Prior knowledge of user acceptance testing and change implementations.
• Extensive experience in relationship management.
• Good working knowledge of working within a complex matrix management
structure to deliver the end business objective.
• Policies and Governance knowledge within the Group and local legislation.
• Detailed understanding of Data Protection principles.
• Comprehensive Knowledge of Bank systems.
• Detailed knowledge of products and services offered by the business.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Group Operational Risk Framework
• Able to perform UAT testing on the various banking systems and change
management.
• Experience in effective implementation of new systems in a controlled
environment.
• Proven skills and experience in dealing with teams across the business
and managing staff at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Experience of working within a cross-country.
• Experience in working with project teams.
• Possess the ability to deal with uncertain business objectives
