Ordinarily Resident: - € 37,512 per year starting salary
Position Grade: FSN-06
Candidate may be hired on a developmental level, i.e. one or more pay grades below the full performance level, in order to receive training and to  acquire knowledge of U.S. Government-specific regulations and operating  procedures.
Security Requirement U.S. Mission certified medical and non-sensitive security clearance
This is a temporary position to cover parental time not to exceed May 4, 2015.

The U.S. Embassy in Berlin is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Clerk (Foreign Visas) in the  General Services section. Filling of position is subject to availability of funds.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The incumbent is part of the Travel and Visitors Unit, and is responsible for duties in connection with obtaining  foreign visas on behalf of U.S. Government official travelers and in coordinating logistical arrangements for official  visits. He/she advises official travelers stationed in Germany of foreign visa requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific information supporting each item.
EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school (Germany: Realschule, America: High School diploma or GED,  for all others: 10 years of schooling) is required.
EXPERIENCE: One year of progressively responsible experience in the travel field or closely related service field  is required.
LANGUAGE: English and German (Level IV- fluency) speaking/reading/writing language skills are required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Good communication skills are required.
• Ability to interpret official documents and regulations is required.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use related software is required.
• Ability to draft in a clear, concise and grammatically correct manner is required.

3. Current Locally Employed Staff (LE Staff) with an overall summary rating of ‘Needs Improvement’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’ on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed U.S. citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to  apply for advertised positions within the first ninety (90) calendar days of their employment. This does not apply to EFMs hired into a position with a ‘When Actually Employed” (WAE) work schedule.
5. Currently employed Not Ordinarily Resident (NOR) employees, hired under a Personal Services Agreement  (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first ninety (90) days of their employment  unless hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
