and Nairobi Securities Exchange, with Actis' Infrastructure 2 fund as a
majority investor. Actis is a teading investor in the emerging markets,
managing over US$4.8 bn worth of investment on behalf of more than 100
institutional investors, including the Commonwealth Development Corporation
(CDC), a UK Government owned company.

the position below in the Integrity Section.
Principal Accountabilities:
·
Conduct (on behalf 01 Umeme Ltd) private prosecution of aiminal cases in
the courts 01 Judicature In Uganda.
·
Direct Umeme investigators, the Uganda police and any other duly appointed
investigative armlagency in the investigation and collation of evidence
required for successful prosecution of aiminal cases inftiated for and on
behalf of Umeme Ltd.
·
Draft, prepare and prefer appropriate charges for criminal cases under
private prosecution for and on behalf of Umeme Ltd.
·
Sanction any such charges preferred before filing in Court.
·
Attend to stakeholders issues/complaints regarding Umeme criminal cases
under private prosecution.
·
Direct and provide legal guidance to Umeme investigators and field
technical staff in investigations and filling of complaints with the police and
relevant authorities.
·
Liaise with the Uganda Criminal Investigation Department in lodging and
following up of suspected crime related complaints lodged lor and on behalf of
Umeme Ltd at the Police.
·
Coordinate with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to ensure that the
complaints in paragraph 7 are thoroughly investigated, appropriate charges
preferred and suspect(s) promptly produced in court.
·
Plan and coordinate the attendance of wmesses and timely availability of
all necessary evidence, including exhibits during the trial.
·
Attend court on watching brief for all major aimlnal cases that Umeme has
interest, which were commenced by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to
ensure successful prosecution thereof.
·
Provide periodical reports on the progress of all cases at Private
Prosecution, the Police, Directorate of Public Prosecutions' office and trial
court.
·
Systematically keep a record of all matters handled.
·
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time for the
company.
Education and experience:
·
A minimum 01 3 years of acUve prosecution with excellent progressive
record.
·
A minimum of Bachelors of laws (LLB) Degree Irom a recognized University.
·
A Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre,
Kampala
Job Purpose:
To conduct investigative aud~s, compliance reviews and implement corporate
Integrity Initiatives in accordance with the Corporate Integrity program.
Education Essential:
An Honor's Bachelor's Degree In Commerce, Accountancy, Auditing, Statistics
and EleclJic engineering
Desirable:
Professional qualifications in investigations, Accounting, Auditing. Ethics
& Integrity
Knowledge in regutatory and process compliance. Experience and Knowtedge:

Minimum of (2) year experience in Investigative Audrts and Compliance
·
Reviews

Knowledge in regulatory and process compliance.

Proficiency in data analysis techniques.
·
Proficiency in research, investigations and the use of statistical data
analysis

Risk profiling and analysis

Experience in management 01 complaints and whistle blowers
