Purpose of the
position:To provide technical oversight to the World Vision WASH projects
in the respective Regions
Back ground
Information;
World Vision Uganda is a Christian Relief, Development and
Advocacy Non-Government Organization dedicated to working with children,
families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work
in over 40 districts in Uganda. World Vision is committed to the protection of
children and we will not employ people whose background is not suitable for
working with children. All employment is conditioned upon the successful
completion of all applicable background checks, including criminal record

qualified persons willing to share in our vision to join the team in the
following roles.
Key Responsibilities
·
Oversee the technical implementation of WASH
activities in the region
·
Supervise project activities such as borehole
and latrine construction; well rehabilitation; water source protection, etc.
with the support of Engineering Assistants including all processes from
quotations and procurement through to monitoring of impact of projects.

Supervise community mobilisation teams to engage
full participation of beneficiaries in design, siting and maintenance of
WAT/SAN systems and hygiene promotion activities as well as contributions of
labour and materials where appropriate.
·
Facilitate design of community operation and
maintenance plans of wash infrastructure and involved in training of water
source committees.
·
Data collection, accurate record keeping and
management of information to measure progress and impact of project liaison.
·
Preparing monthly field reports for timely
decision making
Knowledge and skills:
·
University Degree in Water and Sanitation
Engineering
·
At least 2 years of previous experience in Water
and Sanitation Projects
·
Good command of oral and written English is a
must, local language skills are an asset. Good communication and interpersonal
skills.
·
Motorcycle riding skills are an asset.
·
Knowledge of GPS mapping software is an added
advantage.
·
Must be a committed Christian, able to stand
above denominational diversities.
