Accountant - Accounts Payable

Reports to: Chief Accountant
Purpose:
Reporting to the Chief Accountant will be responsible for
providing financial, administrative and clerical services to include
processing, reconciling and monitoring all hospital purchases and payments,
including approved salaries. Ensure accuracy of hospital finances, up to date,
timely staff payments and that vendors and suppliers are paid within
established time limits

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform
the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions;
Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and
services using SAP accounting system; ensure all transactions comply with
financial policies and procedures; manage cheque/payment; Handle incoming
telephone inquiries from suppliers;
Maintain the general ledger, manual updated vendor files and
a reconciled listing of accounts payable and submit monthly reports,
Print and distribute monthly financial reports.
2. Complete
payroll functions initially prepared by HR office and ensure accuracy and
timely staff payments; verify coding from Inspiro payroll software and obtain
signatures of approval and authorization from the Chief Accountant and Medical
Director respectively; Prepare timely payments and statutory submissions including
PAVE and NSSF.
3. Provide
administrative support to ensure effective and efficient office operations;
Maintain a filing system for all financial documents under your office; Ensure
confidentiality and security of all financial and employee documents.

ABILITIES

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in
the following areas:

Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts
receivable and maintaining general ledgers; payroll functions and procedures
·
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in
preparing and entering financial and payroll information; maintain
confidentiality concerning financial and employee files Demonstrated skills of
excellent interpersonal and team building; bookkeeping, analytical and problem
solving, decision making skills

Effective written, verbal, listening and
communications skills and organizational skills
·
Computer skills including the ability to operate
computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word-processing programs, and e-mail
at a highly proficient level
·

confidentiality, honest, trustworthy, respectful and demonstrate sound work
ethics
Qualifications

BBAor
• ACCA /
CPA - must have completed Remuneration
