Our client is a specialist ICT services and eSecurity solution provider and is seeking to recruit a result driven and motivated individual for the vacancy above:

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Position Objectives

    To ensure that company books of accounts are maintained according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards.
    Ensure that Company books of account are updated in a timely manner so as to inform management in decision making and provide relevant and timely information to other stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities


  •     Ensure that all transactions are recorded properly in sage.
  •     Responsible for recording all expenditure transactions including payables in the system before payments are made to creditors.
  •     Responsible for recording all receipts including receivables in the system.
  •     Responsible for posting all orders received and issued thus updating customers and supplier accounts in the system.
  •     Assisting External Auditors with Audit requests and preparation of Audit Schedules and organizing for external auditors including providing support vouchers.
  •     Handling monthly ledger reconciliations of nominated accounts including WHT account.
  •     Make timely payments of staff salaries to their individual accounts.
  •     Make timely payment of monthly operating costs.
  •     Review the fixed asset register for the company assets for accuracy, completeness and correctness. Compute the depreciation charge on a monthly basis and propose the relevant adjustments.
  •     Regularly conduct cash counts and prepare cash certificates of amount held in safe.
  •     Do monthly stock taking exercises and make journal entries to recognize stock consumption in a particular month.
  •     Ensuring monthly PAYE and VAT returns are submitted on time and in full and ensuring hard copies are presented to URA for endorsement.
  •     Ensuring monthly NSSF returns are submitted to National social security fund.
  •     Prepare monthly financial reports.

Key outputs


Monthly financial reports prepared in sage and submitted in full by 4th of the following month.-trial balance

- Income statement

- Balance sheet

- Bank reconciliation

- Debtors aging report and creditors aging report


Qualifications


    1st class or upper second class Accounting/Finance or Business Administration with a speciality in accounting degree or equivalent
    Full or part time Accounting Qualification from a reputable firm professional accounting body

Minimum Experience: 2 years
