A leading Health Logistics Management organization dealing in the importation and distribution of HIV related drugs in Uganda. The origination has established an extensive services offering including a dedicated procurement agency, prviding comprehensive drug & health commodity, supply chain logistics across Uganda is looking to recruit for the following position:

1. LABORATOTY SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT ADVISOR:

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Technical operations, the role is to provide Clinical and Technical guidance and advice to support the organization and coordinates Uganda ministry of Health’s work in laboratory commodity logistics....

Key Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a technical resource for the implementation and administration of laboratory logistics policies, systems, goals, objectives, procedures.
  • Provide overall leadership to and oversee the planning, prioritizing and coordination of laboratory logistics activities.
  • Serves as the lead laboratory advisor to support the MOH,USG and partners to promote, inform and build support for laboratory commodity logistics interventions when needed. Analyze the constraints to improved product availability in the policy regulatory and health system environment, provide recommendation input.
  • Analyze current laboratory protocols, standard equipment and supplies list. provide recommendations and input.
  • Participate in forecasting and quantitificaton activities for laboratory commodity needs, including an annual exercise and reviews.
  • Conduct pipeline analysis and monitor supply levels of laboratory commodities.
  • Conduct regular support and monitoring visits to service delivering points, to gather data and address logistics system problems.

Qualifications;

  • Masters degree in laboratory Sciences,MPH,MBA with a must baseline bachelor’s degree in Laboratory.

Work experience Requirements:
    • 5-10years of related experience with reputable international organization.
    • Experience with National Levels Laboratory organizational structure.
    • Experience in Clinical Laboratory services in an accredited laboratory
    • Experience in Laboratory tests and techniques including the equipments reagents and consumables required  for the diagnosis and monitoring of the following ( but not limited to) HIV/AIDS, TB ,Malaria, STIs Hepatitis B, etc.
    • Experience in logistics/ supply chain and /or public health commodities management.
    • Experience with procedures for internal and external quality control.
    • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
    • Suitable compute skills with spread sheet and word processing and other software, preferable Microsoft word and excel.
