Job Summary:
The Field Assistants will support a
five-year USAID program that aims to improve Early Grade Reading Outcomes for
children in primary grades and collaborate with the Government of Uganda to
develop sustainable Health Education systems that support National HIV and AIDS
prevention efforts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and Evaluation:
Collect and organize school enrolment data (P1-P7) as well as teacher
enrolment data by grade and ensure that these data are properly entered in the
spreadsheets provided.
Actively participate in school level
monitoring activities and this includes conducting interviews with teachers,
head teachers, CCTs and inspectors.
2. Support Supervision:

Work closely with the Literacy Field
Coordinator to plan and implement school support supervision visits.
·
Responsible for the Orientation of education officials (head teachers,
CCTs, inspectors and associate inspectors) on the support supervision tools.
·
Organizing and participating in
debriefing meetings.
·
Actively participating in support
supervision visits to schools.
·
Print and pack supervisory tools and
materials Compile support supervision data as requested
3. Training:
Technically support the program technical team in organizing and
implementing training activities.
This includes: printing, organizing and packing training materials.
At training venues, responsible for
registering participants and maintaining paper and electronic records.
4. Instructional Materials Distribution:
Assist in the distribution of materials to schools and this includes
verifying the numbers and taking record of the deliveries.
5. Coordinate Field Based Activities:
Actively communicate with schools/districts about upcoming data collection
and other program activities.
Work with the program technical team to ensure effective coordination of
all program activities at the district, CPTC, CC and school level Report
designated Supervisor any matters that need the attention of program management
and technical teams.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
All candidates must have completed their A levels and obtained a tertiary
qualification i.e. certificate or diploma in a relevant area Computer literacy
skills i.e.
·
proficiency in MS word, Excel and Power point.
·
Possess the ability to travel Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision.
·
Ability to work in a team .
·
All candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal, communication and
team work skills.
·
All positions are expected to be based in the respective districts in
Uganda and require fluency in English and the respective local language.
·
The applicants should be able to speak fluently in the predominant local
language of the district.
