Brief Company Profile:
Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the USAID-funded Feed the Future Commodity Production and Marketing Activity in Uganda. The project aims to contribute to USAID Feed the Future's twin objectives of
reducing poverty and undernutrition by sustainably increasing production and marketing of high-quality maize, beans, and coffee. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
·             Provide leadership, technical direction, overall planning and management, and administrative oversight for all project activities and results
·             Promote strategic planning, management, collaboration, and teamwork with shared vision, sound business decisions, and coordination with key stakeholders' national plans
·             Oversee critical technical activities/field support in the central office and three regional offices
·             Serve as the project's official representative and ensure close, collaborative relationships with USAID and ensure collaboration with donors, Ugandan government officials, stakeholder representatives, and partners, including other USAID-funded programs, most notably other Feed the Future activities
·             Oversee project compliance with all contractual and administrative requirements, with support from home office, deputy chief of party, and operations and finance director
·             Oversee development of annual work plans, new activity implementation plans, quarterly reports, and other deliverables required by USAID
·             Establish administrative framework to monitor and assume progress toward achievement of goals and objectives

Qualifications:
·             Advanced degree in agricultural economics, international development, business administration, or other relevant field required
·             Minimum five years of senior management experience on donor-funded agricultural development programs, preferably in Africa
·             Demonstrated experience interacting with government agencies, host-county governments and counterparts, and international donor agencies
·             Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations and experience in budgeting, procurement, and financial management
·             Experience in managing subcontracts and grants to local organizations to promote agricultural and/or value chain development preferred
·             Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in communicating complex processes to diverse stakeholders both internal and external to the project
·             Familiarity with political, social, and cultural context in Uganda preferred
