Brief Company Profile:
ActionAid Uganda (AAU), a national development organization registered
under the laws of Uganda and
with a local Board seeks to recruit a suitably
qualified, self-driven, result-oriented candidate for the Position of a Program
Trainee. The successful candidate will be based at ActionAid Uganda Kumi Office
in Kumi District with frequent travels to our other field offices.
Key Result Areas:
·
Prepare and submit monthly and
timely financial reports in accordance with the Finance Policy and Procedures
Manual
·
Monitor the acquisition, use,
safeguard and transfer of organizational assets from source to targeted
beneficiaries as per the organizational policies.
·
Participate in the preparation
and consolidation of local rights program plans and budgets and monitor their
implementation in accordance with organizational policies
·
Pre-Audit partners and local
rights program transactions and support audits in line with organizational
policies
·
Supervise, motivate, appraise
support staff in the LRP and build the capacity of staff and partners in line
with Human Resource Policy and other organizational policies and procedures.
·
Lead the process of Procurement
of goods and services and stores management at the LRP
·
Capture payments, receipts, and
staff accountabilities in the accounting system, stamping and filling vouchers
with all supporting documents daily to aid reporting, reviews and audit trails
as per the Finance Manual
·
Supervise and monitor the
liquidity position and the treasury function of the LRP to ensure that it meets
its financial obligations as they fall due in line with the Finance Policy and
Procedures Manual
·
Contribute t the management of
donor projects and contracts
·
Reconcile all accounts in
accordance with the organizational chart of accounts and the Finance Manual
·
Prepare and ensure timely
submission of statutory deductions to the relevant authorities
·
Provide administrative and
logistical support to staff and visitors in accordance with organizational
Policies, Procedures and Best practices.
Qualification and Experience:
An Upper second class University degree in Commerce, Business
Administration, Financial Management or Accounting.
Any additional professional qualification and knowledge of basic computer
skills will be an added advantage.
