security clearance .The American Consulate General in Frankfurt is seeking
individuals for the position of Administrative Clerk
in the Frankfurt Regional Diplomatic Courier Division
(FRDCD).
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The incumbent is responsible for arranging travel for the
Diplomatic Couriers and the administration of the Diplomatic Courier Visa
Program. The incumbent reports directly to the Office Management Specialist
(OMS).
This position requires extensive use of the E2 Solutions
program. The incumbent is the primary contact for all information concerning
travel, to include Travel Authorizations (TA), per diems, expenses and travel
vouchers. The incumbent must use sound judgment in dealing with all customers
within the Frankfurt Regional Diplomatic Courier Division (DS/DC/FRDCD) as well
as our contacts in Washington DC and Charleston. Jobholder must be able to
obtain a Secret clearance.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion
detailed below with specific information supporting each item.
EDUCATION: Completion
of secondary school (Germany: Abitur, USA: American High School Diploma or GED,
or other international equivalent) is required.
EXPERIENCE: Two years
of clerical/ office administration is required. Experience with the Microsoft
Office suite of software is required.
LANGUAGE: Level IV
(fluency) English is required (speaking/ reading/ writing).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of office and administrative procedures is
required.
• Knowledge of all office equipment and its usage (faxes,
copiers, scanners, label makers) is required.
• Good written and oral communication skills, including
English Grammar, spelling and writing skills is required.
• Ability to work under pressure and shift gears in a
hurry to accommodate a broad range of activities is required.
• Level I typing skills and good computer skills (MS
Office Suite) are required.
Please note that the Human Resources Office may conduct
tests of language or other required skills as part of the selection process.

3. Current Locally Employed Staff (LE Staff) with an
overall summary rating of ‘Needs Improvement’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’ on their most
recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed U.S. citizen EFMs who hold a Family
Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to
apply for advertised positions within the first ninety (90) calendar
days of their employment. This does not apply to EFMs hired into a position
with a ‘When Actually Employed” (WAE) work schedule.
5. Currently employed Not Ordinarily Resident (NOR)
employees, hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised
positions within the first ninety (90) days of their employment unless hired into a position with a When
Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
