Position Title: PROGRAMME OFFICER
Organisation: The Royal Danish Embassy in Kampala (Danida)
Location: Kampala
Background Information:
The Royal Danish Embassy in Kampala (Danida) seeks to recruit a Programme
Officer. As our new colleague, you will be responsible for a broad range of
tasks within Denmark’s development
cooperation with Uganda. Initially, you will
work with the Growth team at the Embassy under the direct supervision of the
Team Leader. The team is responsible for the Embassy’s activities within the
area of growth, employment and private sector development.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Master’s Degree within the social sciences or in a
development related field, such as Public Financial Management, Public
Administration and Management or Development Economics. Additional related
qualifications will be an advantage.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant post graduate professional experience from
working in an international organization, government or private sector in
Uganda.
Knowledge and skills:
• A broad knowledge and interest in the area of development aid or social
and economic development
• Experience from management of development programmes, incl. financial
management and aid effectiveness
• Knowledge of IFMIS and Public Financial Management at sector level,
including sector budget support and basket funding would be an advantage,
preferable from the water sector
• Willingness and ability to work for the priorities and interests of the
Danish Government
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Good operational skills
• Well-developed communication skills in English, both verbally and in
writing. Knowledge of Danish will be considered a special advantage

• Strong social skills, not least flexibility, responsibility and integrity
• Can work independently but enjoys cooperating with others in a team
structure
• Shows initiative and has the ability and stamina to achieve results
• Ability to handle complex situations under pressure
