BOA UGANDA is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons who are
accomplished to take up the position of Financial Accountant. The position will be reporting to the Head of
Finance and will be responsible for the following:
Position Function:
To provide operational, financial, regulatory information and quality
Financial support service to management through the collection, analysis,
processing, interpretation and communication of financial information for
financial reporting and decision making while ensuring compliance to all
relevant financial standards.

Qualifications:
·
Bachelor's degree in accounting,
business, banking, finance or related fields
·
Professional qualifications in
accounting e.g. ACCA, CPA etc, though part qualification is acceptable
·
Minimum of 3 years of relevant
experience preferably in the Banking / Financial Industry
·
Understanding of Financial
Reporting and related standards
·
Understanding of Financial
modelling and fore-casting
·
Solid analytical and numerical skills
·
Excellent Computer Skills
including MS Office Suite and specifically advanced skills in MS Excel
·
Interpersonal and communication
skills, with the ability to effectively function in a team setting
·
Attention to details
·
Initiative, self-supervision and
follow up skills
·
Integrity and confidentiality
·
Ability to work in fast paced and
results oriented environment
Key duties & Responsibilities:
·
Ensuring compliance with
corporate and country financial practices
·
Undertaking monthly reporting to management,
the holding company, and regulators
·
Liaising with business unit heads
in production and analysis of financial data
·
Management of budgetary control
systems including discussion of budget variances with management
·
Providing a monthly analytical
reports and commentary on financial performance
·
Managing the preparation of
monthly balance sheet reconciliations
·
Monitoring compliance with
financial controls
·
Ensuring that superiors are fully
briefed on financial function issues
·
Responding directly to management
and Board level queries
·
Obtaining detailed commercial
knowledge of the relevant business and understanding business drivers
·
Providing support to the business
when preparing or evaluating new proposals (new contracts, revisions of
contracts, investment decisions).

Contributing towards and ensuring
that the department operates smoothly on a day to day basis and providing for
the development of the Finance function within the institution
