Post: Nurse Counselor
Reporting: Clinical Officer

Stations: Wakiso
Purpose of the Job
To coach and give information about SMC to clients. He/ she will perform counseling sessions ensuring high level confidentiality without discrimination and treat each client with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities
        Providing Pre and post SMC / HCT counseling services
        Conduct referral of clients who are HIV positive and those with complication for further care
        Provide treatment and other care and support services including referral for clients diagnosed with STI
        Identify client’s problems and document pertinent information
        Assist clients in formulating plans for addressing problem areas
        Refers clients for further counseling to other social support institutions as required
        Participates as a full member of the circumcision interdisciplinary team.
        Compiling and submitting daily SMC client forms to the data unit.
        Understanding of and adhering to Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
        Support other circumcision related activities as required including provision of post operative drugs, condoms and other supplies
Key Outputs
        Counseling service care to SMC /HCT Clients provided.
        Prescribed treatment to the clients given.
        Medical complications / adverse events reported.
        Clients records maintained.
        Daily SMC client forms written and submitted to the data unit.
Basic Qualifications, Training and competencies
        Must have Enrolled Nursing Certificate or equivalent from a recognized Institution.
        Must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
        At least two years work experience preferably in a circumcision surgical setting
        Completion of a recognized course in a counseling course with a specialty in counseling services for persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Reporting: Country M & E Officer

Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Programme Manager SRH/MCH, the Programme M&E Officer will be responsible for strengthening and improving monitoring and evaluation systems within the districts to ensure that the project implementation is in line with National Strategic Plans, Policies and Guidelines. He/She will coordinate and manage the M&E related Country interventions and personnel for SRH/MCH projects in Uganda country Programs. He/She will also provide technical assistance to projects staff and partners in developing performance indicators and design data collection tools.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate the development/review of key SRH/MCH M&E documents that include the M&E Plan, PMP and Implementation schedules among others.
        To support and review the project plans, agree on performance indicators, methods of information collection and storage, monitoring time frames and roles/responsibilities for SRH/MCH Country Programs.
        To assess projects staff, local government staff, community Health Workers and VHTs’ capacity needs to appropriately use the activity report tools/forms and other performance related monitors for SRH/MCH projects in Uganda country programs.
        Take lead in database development and maintaining the projects information management system for the projects area and update the APD for all SRH/MCH country projects.
        Establish a Monitoring mechanism to provide timely feedback on projects progress at all levels and all times.
        To Build capacity of projects staff and key implementing partners through on job training support supervision to use appropriate tools for quality implementation of activities.
        To ensure that periodic projects reviews are done with key stakeholders/partners and guide the projects teams while designing/preparing for project reviews/ evaluations
        To liaise with relevant stakeholders and partners to ensure that the M&E system produces quality data required internally and externally as well as conduct data quality assessments.
        To write all relevant reports monthly, quarterly semiannual, annual internal and external reports including monitoring, and implementation and training reports.
        To participate in all SRH/MCH concept note and proposal developments for the enhancements of the SRH/MCH Uganda portfolio.
Basic Qualifications, Training and Competencies
        Degree or training in Environmental health, bio-statistical analysis and data management.
        Professional training in M&E with at least 4 years experience in designing and implementing participatory M&E systems.
        Experience in operations research an added advantage.
