Background Information
The National Center for State Courts is seeking qualified Ugandan
citizens to fill the position below for the Supporting Access to Justice,
Fostering Peace and Equity (SAFE Program) funded by USAID.
Position
Summary:
The Communications & Awareness Specialist is responsible for managing
internal and external project communication, developing and managing the
implementation of the project’s communication strategy, writing/editing
contract deliverables, creating/obtaining content for the Program’s website,
and handling media relations. Extensive domestic travel is required.
Key Duties
and Responsibilities:
•
Ensure that all internal and external
communications related to the Program are optimal with appropriate language and
conform to USAID marking and branding guidelines.
•
Develop and manage the implementation of the
project’s communication strategy.
•
Write and edit contract deliverables
(speeches, success stories, learning and dissemination materials, etc.)
•
Handle all media relations.
•
Promote and maintain media material related to
the Program’s work and relevant news.
•
Create Program website and manage website
content.
•
Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
•
A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/
Communications, Journalism or related field.
•
Minimum six years of professional experience
in the medial and communications industry.
•
Previous program/project communication
experience preferably on a USAID funded project in Uganda.
•
Experience developing campaigns to drive
awareness of the Program’s objectives
•
Excellent oral and written communication
skills.
•
Ability to travel to partner local governments
as required.
•
Fluency in English; knowledge of other local
languages is preferred.
Preferred:
•
Knowledge of File Storage and Transfer
Protocol (FTP), TELNET, HTML & Javascript.
•
Graphic design capabilities and software expertise.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
