Background Information:
The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is an institution established under the provisions of Article 163 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
Its mandate, functions and powers are enshrined in the National Audit Act, 2008. The main function of the OAG is to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and of all public offices or bodies and/or organizations established by an Act of Parliament.

OAG wishes to strengthen its human resource capacity by recruiting dynamic and self-motivated individuals to complement its current work force in the execution of its core functions and responsibilities as the Supreme Audit Institution of Uganda. Pursuant to Chapter 1, Section L-a of the Government Standing Orders as well as Section 2 of the Pensions Act, OAG was recognized by the Pensions Authority as "Other Public Service" w.e.f. 4th October 2008.
JOB TITLE:  Accountant (2 Vacancies)
REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant
SALARY SCALE: U4
AGE LIMIT: Below 40 Years

TERMS OF SERVICE: Permanent terms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding EITHER an Honours Bachelor's Degree majoring in accounting from a recognized University/Institution OR a professional accountancy qualification. Possession of both qualifications will be an added advantage.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years working experience as an Accountant in the Public Sector or reputable private sector organizations. Hands on experience of computerized accounting packages will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
·         The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Accountant for performing the following duties:
·         Examining the correctness and accuracy of payment requests, completeness of documentation and certifying requisitions or transactions for processing;
·         Verifying receipts, matching and undertaking online reconciliation of invoices and Local Purchase Orders for goods and services procured prior to effecting payment;
·         Compiling accountability returns, verifying and retiring advances ledgers;
·         Maintaining primary financial records and up-to-date books of accounts;
·         Preparing periodic financial statements and carrying out monthly bank reconciliations;
·         Following up payments to ensure beneficiaries are communicated to promptly;
·         Monitoring expenditure against budget throughout the year; Maintaining a reliable Fixed Asset Register;
·         Preparing and filing timely and accurate tax and other statutory returns;
·         Supervising and developing subordinate staff.
·         Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

SALARY SCALE: U4
AGE LIMIT: Below 40 Years

TERMS OF SERVICE: Permanent terms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor's Degree Secretarial Studies or Office Management from a recognized University/Institution.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years working experience as an Executive Assistant/Personal Secretary in  the Public Sector or reputable private sector organizations. Knowledge of the use of modern office equipment will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Assistant Secretary for performing the following duties:
- Scheduling executive meetings and managing executive dairy of appointments;
- Assisting executives in taking meeting minutes/notes, preparing documents and presentations;
- Attending to phone calls and responding to stakeholders;
- Ensuring that reports and data files are arranged in a perfect  manner;
- Ensuring client satisfaction with office services;
- Ensuring timely work and information flow to and from the  office;
- Ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in the office;
- Requisitioning and managing office supplies;
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the  supervisor.

REPORTS TO: Senior Assistant Secretary
SALARY SCALE: U6
AGE LIMIT: Below 40 Years

TERMS OF SERVICE: Permanent terms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized Institution.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience in the Public Sector or reputable private sector organizations. Knowledge of the use of modern office equipment will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Assistant Secretary for performing the following duties:
Typing and presenting accurate and error free work; Ensuring timely work and information flow to and from the office;
Ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in the office; Requisitioning and managing office supplies; Arranging and following up on appointments;
Attending to phone calls and responding to stakeholder inquiries;
- Ensuring that reports and data files are arranged in a perfect manner;
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
JOB TITLE: Accounts Assistant (1 Vacancy)
REPORTS TO: Accountant 
SALARY SCALE: U7
AGE LIMIT: Below 40 Years
JOB REF:  ADM. 56/136/01 Vol.4 [6/13] Permanent terms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding EITHER a Diploma majoring in accounting from a recognized Institution OR an accounting technician certificate.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years working experience as an Accounts Assistant in the Public Sector or reputable private sector organizations. Hands on experience of computerized accounting packages will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
·         The incumbent will be responsible to the Accountant for performing the following duties:
·         Handling full clerical duties that involve inputting approved invoices or payment requests into the payment system; Ensure proper filing and safety of payment vouchers; Preparing payment vouchers for all cash payments; Ensuring payment vouchers are attached to supporting documents;
·         Maintaining books of accounts and financial records;
·         Compiling accountability returns, verifying and retiring advances ledgers;
·         Maintaining primary financial records and up-to-date books of accounts;
·         Preparing periodic reconciliations of financial statements and carrying out monthly bank reconciliations;
·         Following up payments to ensure beneficiaries are communicated to promptly; bAny other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
