DEPOT ENGINEER AND DEPOT ENGINEER


CAREER OPPORTUNITY
 Shell Uganda limited is looking to recruit suitable qualified and talented Ugandans to fill the following vacancies.

1. DEPOT ENGINEER: (2positions)

The position is a middle level position in Shell Uganda reporting to the depot manager.

The individual will be responsible for proper management of product receipt and storage while ensuring proper maintenance of the plant for maximum effeficiency.
The individual will take overall responsibility for delivery of HSSE requirements in the depot.
Key performance:
§  To ensure depot operations processes are done in accordance with laid down procedures.
§  To manage product receipt, storage and secondary distribution and achieve operational loss targets.
§  To manage health safety and environment issues in the depot.
§  To manage a diverse work force.
§  To ensure the plant is kept in an acceptable state of maintenance.
§  To ensure the depot operations are run within set budgets.

Minimum Requirement:/Competencies:
§  Mechanical Engineering degree with 3 years working experience. Experience in the petroleum industry is an added advantage.
§  Self motivated, proven record of achievement and leadership.
§  Sound knowledge of equipment maintenance.
§  Good interpersonal skills.
§  Good understanding of industrial and process safety.

2. STOKES ACCOUNTANT:
 The position is a middle level position reporting to the financial controller.....


The individual will be expected to have control to ensure accurate stock volumes and values for in-land and external depots. He/she will ensure that stock control procedures are in place and hardhered to in order to safe guard company stocks.
The role is also responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of stocks.(with correct stock entries which are updated in the timely manner )The stock processes and procedures used should be continuously updated and improved by the incumbent & other staff that interface with stocks. He/she will support accurate and timely financial reporting through ensuring all stock master data is up dated correctly.

Key Performance Areas for the role:
Daily integrity check.
  • Run daily stocks integrity reports.
  • Investigate, explain the causes and correct any differences on a daily basis.
  • Monitor unit costs for all the products in the system and correct any unusual movement.
  • Review and take-up landed costs for all products in the system. Monitor landed costs vs accruals and corrects any unusual movements.
  • Ensure that all sales orders and transfers have been updated correctly in the correct period.
  • Stabilize and sustain the inventory management module in the JDE system.
  • Provide technical support and training requirements to the system users on stoke related issues.
  • Monitor logistic transactions, identify abnormalities and correct them.
  • Coordinate with stock management team initiatives and best practices.
  • Ensure physical stock counts are carried at the end of every quarter in accordance with laid down stock taking procedures.
  • Carry out surprise stock counts during the year.
  • Identify and follow up on damaged, obsolete & slowing moving stock items for appropriate action.
  • Carry out annual stock reconciliation at the end of the month as check on the stock in the JDE system.
  • Check to ensure that all stock transactions for the month have been processed.
  • Compute current cost of supply.

Minimum Requirement /Competencies:
Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Statistics, or Mathematics and a Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA/CPA).
  • Knowledge of stock Accounting/ inventory Management support especially for oil products.
  • Must posses skill in General Ledger accounting with bias in stock Accounting and purchase order processing.
  • Awareness of Financial Accounting working knowledge.
  • Knowledge of depot operations with a ability to integrate operational and accounting requirements.
  • Must posse’s strong Analytical skills.
  • Good supervisory and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of accounting packages. Integrity and Honesty plus high level dedication to resolve issues unsupervised.


3. PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO MD:
The position is a middle level position in Shell Uganda reporting the managing Director.

The individual will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Managing Director and the different classes of business.

Key Performance Areas for the role:
  • To coordinate and organize appointments for the Managing Director’s office and update Diary.
  • Arranging logistical requirements for all corporate visitors including foreign visitors.
  • Arrange immigration formalities for expatriate staff and coordinate with relevant third parties.
  • Attending to telephone calls dispatch of email, faxes and photocopying.
  • Responsible for coordinating welfare activities and arranging company events.
  • Provide day to today support to individuals and managers within the client group.
  • Provide support to arrange meeting and programmes within specific client group.
  • Provide support for information and communication with external clients.
  • Provide support when required on cross functional basis.

Minimum qualification:
§  Bachelor’s Degree in office Management or its equivalent with at least 3 years of working experience.
§  Proven experience & track record in managing a high profile office.
§  Demonstrate skill in organizing and customer focus.
§  Excellent team worker with strong social and interpersonal skills.
