JOB TITLE: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR DATACOM
REPORTS TO: SYSTEM ENGINEER WAN TRANSMISSION
DIRECTORATE: TECHNICAL SERVICES
DEPARTMENT: NETWORK PLANNING AND INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY
DURATION: 3 YEARS
SALARY SCALE: NOF/N5
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To plan for the expansion, implementation and maintenance of the National Backbone Infrastructure and the Last Mile Network.
KEY RESULTS AREA/ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Plans, designs and implements local area network (LAN) systems in Government and other entities for connectivity onto the NBI;
2. Develops network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation to secure networks connected to the NBI;
3. Assists and provides second level support for LANs connected to the NBI and other technology staff as requested including performing scheduled network tasks, monitoring network and providing specialized training;
4. Maintains LAN user documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information;
5. Researches and recommends network hardware and software for Government and other entity networks connected to the NBI.
6. Participate in the development of a last mile blue print for the country.
QUALIFICATIONS
· A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering is essential;
· Professional certification certifications such as CCDA, CCNA, CISSP, MCSE etc. will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE
· At least 3 years’ experience in the administration of LAN/WAN/MAN servers and infrastructures.
· Experience in Project management and Communication is essential.
